Meso

Neither surface nor deep; this is the mesopelagic zone, the ocean's twilight middle. The place where light runs out before the dark truly begins.

The canvas is dense with built-up texture; cracked, cratered, and layered in a palette of deep teal, black, and electric aquamarine. The surface catches light unevenly, the way water does. Bands of luminous green-gold emerge from the dark middle, suggesting bioluminescence or a last filtered ray from above. Below, the canvas deepens to near-black, broken only by faint horizontal striations; pressure, depth, the weight of water above.

There are no fish here. No reference points. Just the zone itself, rendered in texture and light.
